Claude prompts for ecommerce

This prompt creates a practical prompt pack for the everyday work of running an ecommerce business. Use it when you need task-specific prompts that preserve your product facts, brand rules, and customer context.

PromptOpen ChatGPTOpen Claude
Build a copy-ready ecommerce prompt pack for my business. Each prompt must be usable in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and must use placeholders instead of inventing product details.

Business and catalog: [BUSINESS AND PRODUCTS]
Customer and market: [CUSTOMER AND MARKET]
Brand voice and claims rules: [BRAND RULES]
Current business priorities: [PRIORITIES]
Channels and available data: [CHANNELS AND DATA]
Tasks to include or exclude: [TASK SCOPE]

Create 10 prompts, each 120-180 words, for the highest-value tasks in my scope. Default coverage is: product-page copy, collection-page copy, customer review analysis, abandoned-cart email, post-purchase email, paid-ad concepts, customer-service reply, merchandising audit, promotion brief, and weekly performance analysis. For every prompt, provide: task name; when to use it; required inputs; the exact prompt; and the expected output format.

Build domain checks into each prompt. Product copy must separate verified facts from benefit language and avoid medical, environmental, comparative, or performance claims unless substantiated. Email prompts must identify the audience, offer, exclusions, send timing, and one primary action. Review analysis must group feedback by frequency and severity, preserve representative wording without fabricating quotes, and distinguish product issues from shipping or service issues. Performance analysis must calculate or request baseline, period, attribution caveats, inventory context, and recommendation confidence before proposing changes. Do not create discounts, claims, policies, customer data, or results that I have not supplied.

Before answering, confirm every prompt has a concrete output format and a safeguard against unsupported claims or assumptions. Ask up to three clarifying questions only if a required input is missing.

How to use

  1. Paste your real catalog facts and claims restrictions before asking for the pack.
  2. Start with two or three prompts that match your bottleneck instead of deploying every prompt at once.
  3. For performance prompts, attach exports with date ranges, spend, traffic, orders, returns, and stockouts.
  4. Follow up with: “Adapt the product-page prompt for our refill subscription and include cancellation-policy checks.”

Variations

Product page pack

Use this when your catalog pages need clearer conversion copy.

Variation
Create five copy-ready prompts for improving ecommerce product pages. Product facts: [PRODUCT FACTS]. Customer objections: [OBJECTIONS]. Brand and claims rules: [RULES]. Required page elements: [PAGE ELEMENTS]. Include prompts for headline and value proposition, feature-to-benefit translation, FAQ, comparison table, review synthesis, and QA. Each prompt must request verified facts, identify unsupported claims, and output scannable page copy. Do not invent certifications, ingredients, dimensions, compatibility, or test results. Ask up to three questions only if required input is missing.

Lifecycle email

Use this to build email flows around a customer moment.

Variation
Create a lifecycle email prompt pack for [CUSTOMER MOMENT], such as browse abandonment or replenishment. Store and product details: [STORE]. Audience and trigger: [AUDIENCE]. Offer and exclusions: [OFFER]. Brand rules: [VOICE]. Provide four prompts for different stages, each requiring a subject line, preview text, body, primary CTA, timing, and suppression rules. Ensure each avoids unsupported product claims and does not promise delivery dates or discounts not supplied. Include a final QA prompt. Ask up to three questions only if required information is missing.

Store audit

Use this before prioritizing conversion-rate work.

Variation
Audit my ecommerce storefront from the material I provide. Store URL or page copy: [STORE MATERIAL]. Primary customer: [CUSTOMER]. Main conversion goal: [GOAL]. Analytics and qualitative evidence: [EVIDENCE]. Return a prioritized table of issues with page location, observed friction, evidence, suggested change, expected mechanism, effort, and measurement plan. Separate observed facts from hypotheses. Do not claim to have browsed pages or seen analytics that I did not provide. Check that each recommendation has a test metric and guardrail. Ask up to three questions only if a required input is missing.

Tips

  • Keep a single product-facts source with current dimensions, materials, inventory, price, warranty, and substantiated claims; use it in every copy prompt.
  • Segment review analysis by product variant and issue type because shipping complaints can otherwise distort product decisions.
  • Treat conversion recommendations as hypotheses and define a primary metric plus a guardrail such as refund rate, margin, or support contacts.
  • For promotions, include exclusions, inventory position, margin floor, and end date before asking AI to draft customer-facing copy.

FAQ

Can AI write product claims for my store?

It can draft language from substantiated facts you provide. It should not create health, sustainability, performance, comparison, or certification claims without evidence.

Which ecommerce task should I start with?

Start where customer evidence already points to a problem, such as repeated product questions, a weak product page, or a high-volume email flow.

Can I paste customer reviews into ChatGPT or Claude?

Remove names, email addresses, order numbers, and other personal information first. Preserve product, date, and issue context where it is needed for analysis.
