Tips for better results

  • Put the words people search for first. Your title and one or two skills in the first 50 characters matter more than a clever line.
  • Add one real number if you have one. "Dashboard used by 40 clinics" is more memorable than "data-driven analyst", and the generator won't invent one.
  • Match the headline to the goal. A job-seeker headline lists skills recruiters filter on; a freelancer headline names the client and the outcome.
  • Change it when your goal changes. The headline shows on every comment you leave, so it should say what you want people to contact you about now.

FAQ

Is this LinkedIn headline generator free?

Yes. Enter your email once to use it (you'll also get Something Big, our free weekly AI newsletter, and you can unsubscribe anytime). There's no account and no credit card.

How long can a LinkedIn headline be?

LinkedIn allows up to 220 characters, but only the start shows next to your comments and in search results. These headlines stay under 80 characters, with the key words first.

Should I put "Open to work" in my headline?

Usually not. LinkedIn has its own Open to Work setting, which recruiters can filter on. Use the headline to say what role you want and what you're good at.

Will it make up achievements?

No. It only uses the titles, skills and results you type. If you give no numbers, it writes headlines without numbers rather than inventing them.
