Free AI video script generator

Describe the video and its key points. Get a script with a hook in the first seconds, what to show on screen, what to say, and a clear call to action.

How it works

  1. Describe the video: the topic, the key points, who it's for, and what viewers should do at the end.
  2. Pick the format (short, YouTube, explainer, ad or training) and a tone, then click Write my script.
  3. Film it section by section using the SHOW and SAY lines. Read the lines out loud once and change anything that doesn't sound like you.

What's the video about? 3 mistakes new managers make in their first 1:1s: turning it into a status update, doing most of the talking, skipping them when busy. What to do instead. For first-time managers. CTA: download our free 1:1 template at managerloop.com/1on1.

Video format: Short video (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, under 60 seconds)

Tone: Conversational

Example 1: output
Title: 3 mistakes that ruin your first 1:1s Length: about 45 seconds HOOK (0-3s) SHOW: Talking head, close-up. Text: "New manager? Don't do this." SAY: Your first 1:1s are probably going wrong in one of three ways. MISTAKE 1 (3-15s) SHOW: Text overlay: "1. It's a status update" SAY: One: you turn it into a status update. If you can get it from a dashboard, it doesn't belong in a 1:1. Ask what's getting in their way instead. MISTAKE 2 (15-27s) SHOW: Text overlay: "2. You talk the most" SAY: Two: you do most of the talking. It's their meeting. Open with their topics, and try to talk less than half the time. MISTAKE 3 (27-38s) SHOW: Text overlay: "3. You skip it when busy" SAY: Three: you cancel when things get busy. That tells your team they come last. Move it if you have to. Don't skip it. CTA (38-45s) SHOW: Screen recording of the template. Text: managerloop.com/1on1 SAY: Want an agenda that fixes all three? Grab our free 1:1 template at managerloop.com/1on1.

Video format: Explainer or product demo (60 to 90 seconds)

Tone: Professional

Example 2: output
Title: Recurring invoices in Ledgerly Length: about 75 seconds PROBLEM (0-12s) SHOW: Freelancer at a laptop, calendar showing the 1st of the month. SAY: If you bill the same clients every month, you're writing the same invoice again and again. Recurring invoices do it for you. STEP 1 (12-27s) SHOW: Screen recording: choosing a client from the list. SAY: Set it up once. First, pick the client. STEP 2 (27-42s) SHOW: Screen recording: entering the amount and choosing a schedule. SAY: Then enter the amount and choose how often it goes out. STEP 3 (42-57s) SHOW: Screen recording: invoice list with "Sent automatically" labels, then a paid notification. SAY: That's it. Invoices send on schedule, and you get a notification when each one is paid. RESULT (57-67s) SHOW: Talking head or calm b-roll of the freelancer closing the laptop. SAY: For freelancers and small agencies, that's one less thing to remember every month. CTA (67-75s) SHOW: Text: "Free 14-day trial: ledgerly.com" SAY: Try it free for 14 days at ledgerly.com.

Tips for better results

  • Put your real points in the notes. "Three mistakes: status updates, talking too much, skipping" makes a script; "tips for managers" makes filler.
  • Give the exact call to action and link. The script ends with it word for word, and the generator won't invent one.
  • Film the hook last. Once you've recorded the rest, you'll know the strongest first line.
  • Read the script aloud with a timer before you film. If you run long, cut a point rather than talking faster.

FAQ

Is this video script generator free?

Yes. Enter your email once to use it (you'll also get Something Big, our free weekly AI newsletter, and you can unsubscribe anytime). There's no account and no credit card.

What video formats can it write for?

Short vertical videos for Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, YouTube videos of about 2 minutes, 60 to 90 second explainers and product demos, 30-second ads, and short training videos. Each format gets its own structure and word count. For longer videos, generate one section at a time.

How long will the video be?

Scripts are written at about 150 spoken words per minute, so a short video script runs about 90 to 140 words. Each section has a time range so you can pace the edit.

Will it add claims or statistics about my product?

No. It uses only the features, numbers and claims in your notes. If a point needs proof you didn't give, it's written as advice or left as a [placeholder].
